Be aware that Bactrim DS Tablet may cause severe reactions such as skin rash, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat. Talk to your doctor immediately if you experience severe symptoms. Also, avoid using alcohol.
Bactrim DS Tablet may interact with certain medications. It is advisable to inform your doctor about any existing allergies, medical conditions, or current medications. Also, inform your doctor if you are on any nitrates or alpha-blockers, as they can cause dangerous drops in blood pressure.
This medication may make it more difficult for your body to absorb certain nutrients and minerals. Also, it may interact with iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and other elements. If you have any concerns about Bactrim DS Tablet or other medications, please speak with your doctor or pharmacist.

We have evaluated the efficacy of trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim, Septra) in healthy volunteers. The clinical efficacy was evaluated according to the International Index of Efficacy. The results of the efficacy of trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim, Septra) treatment in patients with severe bacterial infection were compared to the efficacy of trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (Bactrim, Septra) treatment in patients with mild-to-moderate bacterial infection.
